Bredella site Pratteln: The owner changes – the planning continues

The historically grown industrial site near Pratteln railway station is to be developed into a mixed residential and commercial quarter over the next 20 years. In 2019, a master plan that Fontana had developed at the time with Burckhardt und Partner set the course that is still valid today: The open spaces will form the urban spatial framework for the development of the approximately 80,000 square metre site.

Old industrial halls and new residential buildings for a wide variety of housing types will be grouped around squares, alleys, boulevards, inner courtyards and a finely meshed network of paths for non-motorised traffic. This open space framework not only forms the vein system in which neighbourhood life will pulsate, but also the starting point for the integration of the new quarter into the grown neighbourhood – and thanks to generous spaces and continuous ventilation corridors, a good basis for the urban climate-optimised planning that we are currently refining.
