Hagnau Muttenz: The next obstacle has been overcome!

The railway, the motorway, various roads and the geologically determined height differences made the Hagnau area an isolated island in the settlement area and high above the Birs. Now the island in the middle of the traffic is to be turned into a dense, urban and attractive quarter with a connection to the water:

Six high-rise buildings will be built in the two sub-areas of Hagnau East and Hagnau West. They will be connected by a sophisticated terrace system that surrounds the mighty buildings with diverse open spaces, connects them with stairs and footbridges – and thus elegantly transforms the challenge of the steep slope situation into the trademark of the area.

From the urban squares and green spaces at the highest point of the site to the natural space of the Birs, an open sequence of attractive free spaces is created for residents and guests. Step by step the terra incognita between Basel and Muttenz is being transformed into a new living space. We are looking forward to helping shape this upgrading process.
