Study Brief Landis + Gyr Site, Zug

For a long time Landis + Gyr was the most significant employer in the canton of Zug; in 1976 5,000 people were working for the business in this canton alone. More than 14 hectares of the former LG site are now located in the centre of Zug. The site is due to be transformed by establishing a mixed-use quarter. 64,000 square metres of urban development with city-centre qualities is envisaged, between areas that have already been developed. The study brief aims to explore the degree of densification, to highlight opportunities for revival, to secure green spaces and to find ways of preserving the identity of the former industrial complex beyond its comprehensive transformation and into the future.
